Time for week 2 of Jen’s and my new photo project painting with light. A very playful theme. For this week I wanted to play with colours, but I don’t have any other light source than my torch. In order to be able to get different colours I used those transparent plastic files you have in an office for example to put papers in. I used a blue one, a red one and a green one. I cut a little piece out of each and held them in front of my torch. It worked.

I wanted to try to create patterns and also to play with reflecting backlight. I am especially thrilled the backlight experiment worked so well – just as I imagined! I just wish I had had a nicer reflecting background for that than my closet door but oh well… it is the only possible place to do it in my apartment. It opens up new ideas though so that’s the plus side.

So what do you think?

Don’t forget to check out Jen’s photos! 🙂 She has had a busy and stressful week after her partner broke his arm badly,  but still managed to put up a couple of photos that makes me think of dancing moonlight!

  1. LOVE this- how fun! great idea to use the coloured plastic to create the coloured lights! can’t wait to see what you do next <3

    • We both had that idea. 🙂 It opens up possiblities to play more with colours. And I can’t wait to see what you do next! Hugs!

    • Both photos have long exposures. Aperture 22 and bulb mode. 🙂 On the last one I counted to fifteen for each ”colour” I was aiming at the wall. My silhouette is blurry because you can’t stand still that long and I had to change colour plastic on the torch too so I was moving even though the room was black while changing.
